一个穷凶恶极的连环杀手正逍遥法外。
还记得当年引进的加里森福特的第一部中影大片Figitive（亡命天涯）么？
我们可以说加里森福特is on the loose, 还可以说是He’s on the run.
在逃的罪犯可以说是a figitive, 或者escapee，或者escaped prisoner等等。逃避警方追捕，亡命天涯的状态叫be at large. 比如Scofield and his brother are still at large.

2.Take that shot. Take that shot!
投篮啊。投篮哪！
这句话是警队队长说的。他是个NBA球迷，这会儿正在看总决赛了。
Take the shot 本意是开枪。 A shot还有一杯（烈酒）的意思。比如 She was totally pissed after a few shots.

3. I got suspended, and Monk got back on the payroll.
我被停职，阿蒙又被重新启用.
Got back on the payroll=was reinstated. 官复原职啊。
如果你说谁谁是On the payroll of a company, you mean they are hired by them.
Payroll还可以指一个公司某时期的总薪水
比如annual payroll 总年薪， payroll system 薪资系统， payroll expense 薪资支出，薪资费用
Suspend 在这里是停职之意，这里是因为警队队长违反警队纪律吧。
Suspend用到学生身上是停学之意。

这里的队长Captain，被翻译成上尉，上校是不对的，因为他并没有军衔。
